A few years ago I found this vintage treasure:
Squires and Small created this kit in 1975 to celebrate the U.S. bicentennial celebration in 1976. It contains supplies for hand sewing your own flag.
The only thing that’s missing from the box is embroidery floss and thread. Everything else is there, including two needles stuck to the instructions with a sticker! I find it interesting that the instructions are hand written.
I got the box out this week and read through the instructions, and I really don’t think the project will be very difficult. I’m off to choose some embroidery thread that will work, and then I’ll start on the stars. Do you think I can get it done in time for Flag Day?
