After using little pieces of the Merry Christmas paper I decided to make a tag with the red paper as the main color. I cut it into a simple rectangle and cut a piece of white burlap that was 1/2 inch smaller. I then pulled a few strands of burlap off the bottom to create a fringe. I punched a plain shape and used the brad to secure all three layers together.
The burlap seemed a little unstable with just the brad holding it in place (see the top left corner?). I worried it might start falling apart. I purchased some little Christmas banner printed masking tape at a warehouse sale and decided to try it out. I simply taped across the entire tag, making the whole thing feel like it wouldn’t fall apart. I like the little bit of whimsy it adds.
