turkey block

I can’t wait for Thanksgiving.  My husband and I get to go to my home in Colorado this year, and I am so excited to go home.  It will be a wonderful break for us and I hope to get some relaxing, with a little bit of shopping and a bunch of family time. Plus, I get to meet Emily’s cute new baby.

I made this little turkey block while contemplating how wonderful Thanksgiving is. It was a bit of an experiment, but I like how it turned out.  The face is paper with mod podge and the feathers are paint stirrers that you get for free when you buy paint.

Since my kind neighbor was over while I was painting the feathers and let me use her craft paint, she suggested doing a blue feather. I totally love it. I’m really not into a ton of wood crafts but this one was fun.
