Oh, how I love color! In fact, much of my time this week has been spent savoring color as I preserve food from my garden, clean the house, work on projects and go on walks. Really, I wonder how I’d live without the richness color brings to my daily life.
And then I have a moment that makes me pause and remember how beautiful those “non-colors” are. Whites, off-whites, cream. I had such a moment as I walked past this pie cooling on my table.
Sometimes the lack of bright color leaves our eyes free to notice line, shape and form more easily than we otherwise would. I’m in love with my new pie pan… because it’s white and putty coloring allows the ruffled edge to take center stage.
Today I’m grateful for the neutrals in my life that add so much beauty to the everyday and which provide a perfect backdrop to the brighter colors that I love.
