After finishing this book at the beach, I picked a book off of my Grandpa’s bookshelf to start. When I saw that the author also wrote the book Seabiscuit and read the summary, I decided to pick it up. And what I read was good.
It’s the story of Louie Zamperini–”a juvenile delinquent-turned-Olympic runner-turned-Army hero.” During a routine search mission over the Pacific in WWII, Louie’s plane crashed into the ocean and he is captured by the Japanese.
I only read the first 60 pages at Grandpa’s and was sad to leave the book there. When picking books for August’s book club, the group decided on Unbroken and I purchased it on my Kindle today with gift cards earned from Opinion Outpost.
I’m excited to read it.
