We’re traveling for the 4th of July this year but this project was simple enough that we brought it with us to do at the beach. A few weeks ago I bought a bag of red, white and blue star shaped marshmallows, got them home, and was stumped as to how to use them. Then it dawned on me: dip them in chocolate with sprinkles and use them as toppers for bite-sized food.
Here’s what you need: marshmallows, toothpicks, sprinkles, dipping chocolate.
After melting the chocolate I dipped the end of the toothpick in chocolate.
Stick the toothpick in the bottom of a star.
Dip the marshmallow in chocolate.
Add sprinkles and place either in food or in styrofoam to set.
Because they’re so little it was easy to make a large batch in little time. My children had a lot of fun getting creative with their stars.
This was a simple, fun way to spruce up miniature cinnamon rolls. They would also be cute on cupcakes, brownies or even a piece of fruit. Use your imagination.
Happy 4th of July!
Jennifer
