Chair makeover

We have had this dining room table and chairs for 10 years now.  They have taken quite a beating, and were used when I got them from my Dad and stripped off the 1970′s green stain.  It’s a beautiful set really – I love the detail in the chairs and table is amazing because the leaves on each end tuck right inside the table.  The only problem is that because I have 5 young children, they need a new cover on them every 8-12 months.  This red plaid was seriously outdated but I couldn’t run out and buy a bunch of uphostery fabric right now.  My solution?

I was recently at a garage sale location I visit a lot (shhh, don’t tell) and a design center dropped off these big boxes of large samples of uphosterly fabric.  My friend and I took the whole box for the price of… nothing.  So do the chairs match exactly?  No.  Am I hung up on that?  No.  They all come from the same fabric line and they all have a raised/velvet pattern that is fun.  Problem solved for now, until they need to be cleaned up and covered again!

What would you do with a bunch of fun uphostery fabric samples?

I love the chair covers!!! So cute. My stepmom made Rachelle the cutest shower curtian with fabric samples. The ones that have rings on them were used for the top panels and then the shower curtian hangers fit perfect in them to hang on the rod! I’ll try to find a picture of it. Sail on!
