Something old becomes NEW

I have had this wild idea inside my head for a few months.  I have been wanting to make a GIGANTIC porch lantern out of old windows.  The man I got these windows from on Craigslist was offering them up for free ‘for a few minutes of taking out your anger on’.  I thought that was pretty funny.  I’m glad I could save them from being smashed to bits.  Although these 4 windows are not all the same size, 2 of them are so I just had the other sides be a bit taller.  Can you tell I’m not into perfection?  I like completion better than perfection; which is a blessing and a curse.

I painted them yellow and with the help of my knowledgable husband screwed them together, added a plywood bottom and wa-la!

Another idea coming to fruition.  I’m wondering about adding a peaked top with 11×14 photo frames but I only have one right now and I will have to wait until I can grab one at a garage sale for less than $1.  I’m wondering now, do they make candles that large?  What can I find to put inside to light up the front walkway on a late summer night?

It’s a little wild, very large, and I like it!

what do you think?  can you make something new from something old?
