Coconut Bird Nests

These little birds nests are a great Easter or spring treat.  My children enjoyed making them with me.

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups sweetened coconut
1 large egg white
candy eggs (we used Cadbury mini eggs)

In a bowl, mix coconut and egg white together.  On a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, form into 5 nests.  Bake at 350 for 16 minutes.

Let cool completely and top with your favorite Easter candy eggs.

I think these would look beautiful placed on a doily or cloth napkin in the center of each plate for an Easter brunch or dinner.

Simple, inexpensive, fun, pretty.  You can’t get much better than that!  Enjoy!

  1. Mmm, these look like delicious little treats. I have a sweet treat linky party going on at my blog and I’d like to invite you to stop by and link your nests up. http://sweet-as-sugar-cookies.blogspot.com/2011/04/sweets-for-saturday-14_22.html
